The Silent Sunset
The silence at the park was invented
Laughs of all the children were suspended
Unheard by me, no reaction to see
A soul not touched by the cacophony
Only his laughter would wake my dystrophy
It wasn’t my aim to just sit and stare
Other parents assumed a hateful glare
If they knew this ache, then they would relent
Creating no comfort with their contempt
This hot jealousy of their fates unchanged
By their children’s laughter that still remained
